- EU milk deliveries decreased by 0.9% in December 2018, which resulted in 128 000 t less milk
- This was the fourth consecutive month with declining milk production in the EU
- 14 Member States have reduced their milk deliveries in December (NL for a volume of 74 000 t, FR for 69 000 and DE for 36 000 t) and in % AT by -7.2% and HR by -7.0%
- A remarkable production expansion was reported by IE (+24.8%, + 52 000 t) and PL (+2.8%, +27 000 t) and in % in RO (+7.9%) for December
- Total milk deliveries in 2018 are 0.9% over 2017 (+1.35 million tonnes)
- Biggest delivery increases (%) in 2018 reported in BG, RO, CY, LU, IE and BE, while 11 Member States reduced their milk deliveries
- EU production has declined in 2018 for WMP (-5.1%), concentrated milk (-3.7%), drinking milk (-2.7%), SMP (-1.5%) and cream (-1.2%)
- An increase in EU production was reported for butter (+0.2%), cheese (+0.3%) and fermented milk (+0.5%)
- New Zealand milk production in December (seventh months of the 2018/19 season) increased by 4.4% compared to December 2017 (+4.4% for Jun-Dec period)
- Australia milk production in December (sixth months of the 2018/19 season) decreased by 6.9% compared to December 2017 (-5.1% for Jul-Dec period)
- 2018 closed with +0.9% increase in the US milk production (+0.5% for December)
